When physical and or sexual abuse, neglect, and abandonment happen to girls and young women their voices are taken away. Finding your voice allows you to blossom into the young woman that you deserve to be. Discovering your own voice in this noisy world with distractions can be very challenging. At New Mercies I See, we are here to help you find your voice, so that you can learn self-love and grow into the independent productive woman you dream of becoming.

New Mercies I See, Inc, mission is to reduce the incidences of suffering and abuse of young women and young mothers and their children, by empowering them through spiritual-based mentoring, education, advocacy, physical needs Resources, and appropriate counseling interventions.

New Mercies I See, Inc. will be an agency that will provide mentoring services to young women and young mothers ages 12-25 and their children. Our goals are to impact vital areas of wellness, we focus on faith-based morals to achieve wellness of the areas of the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and vocational. Encouraging young women to make decisions that will imitate positive outcomes. By taking control of their lives the young women will make the appropriate decision-making skills and healthy living styles. We want to impact both the family structure and the community as a whole. 

We will provide mentoring services to the young women on a weekly basis for a couple of hours. The mentor and the mentee will meet at local churches and other nonprofit locations to discuss various topics of empowerment and goals. During the mentoring session, the young women will receive materials to take home and review. Our goal is to set up lesson plans that will breakdown various topics that will help young women succeed in life. Our mentors will comprise of community church leaders. Mentor will go through a background check to ensure the safety of the young women in our program.

In the future, New Mercies I See, In. will provide a safe haven through temporary housing to young women and their children that have been affected by domestic violence or abandonment. While in our care, each resident will receive mental, physical, and emotional support. Each woman will have an individual care plan to help transition her to a healthy, independent life free of abuse. To help prepare the women for independent living, we will conduct job-coaching, workshops, and assist with locating housing including permanent housing, or applying for housing or applying for housing programs. Workshops may include personal budgeting, self-improvement, social skills, self-esteem building, etc. As part of our program, we will provide the women with mental health counseling. If the women want to reconnect with their faith, we will assist them with this endeavor. If the women need education or job training, we will assist them with accessing education and training programs available within the community.

Sandra is passionate about helping women and young girls who struggle with self-esteem issues, depression, relationship challenges, due to traumatic life experiences such as domestic violence, sexual assault, and even those struggling with infertility issues.
